Sweetgum Acres was established in 2015, and through much blood, sweat and tears, we're still going strong! It's been a wild ride, but I wouldn't have it any other way.
In 2021, the goats and I participated in our first Linear Appraisal and DHIR milk testing through ADGA. It was an incredibly informative year. In 2022 we jumped into the show ring. We are not only having a lot of fun meeting fellow breeders through competing and proving the quality of our herd, but learning so much that will impact our future as we strive to produce quality goats that are not only healthy and structurally correct and sound, but also productive in the milking parlor. All of our goats are ADGA registered, and most of our Nigerian herd has also been registered with AGS and NDGA.
2023 was another productive year on milk test and we did quite a few shows. We even made it all the way to Hattiesburg, MS!
What a journey this life is, and I'm enjoying almost every minute of it.

Those Who Blessed Us Before They Left Us
Each and every animal that has stepped foot on our farm has been a blessing. Unfortunately, we've said a few sad goodbyes to some very special little souls. While we love all of our animals, some were just extra special, and their losses were especially hard. Here is a tribute to those who continue to live on in our hearts.
